The tenth anniversary of my most abstract work, My Day On The Moon, coincided with a renewed interest in abstract music (from Olivia Tremor Control’s “The Bark And Below It” to Babau’s “Flatland Explorations”). The result is this tenth-anniversary followup that forgoes its predecessor's unbroken 49-minute structure in favor of an album split in two: First, a 24-minute followup to the original (in which our protagonist’s sublime curiosity of the ethereal is gradually supplanted by a crushing loneliness that drives the construction of a rocket to return to Earth), and the 18-minute Life Back On Earth which presents in hard juxtaposition our protagonist’s frantic attempts to re-adapt to the indecipherable chaos that is life back on earth. The album concludes with the 4-minute single “Goodnight Moon”, which samples both the old and new albums.
